Fall Winter 2018 metamorphic forest, is completed by a series of large-scale illustrations featuring on silk scarves arranged throughout the store. These magical vignettes are created by Italian street artist El Gato Chimney, The Milanese creative is the latest in a series of street artists who joined the Valextra family in the past few months through the ongoing Street Masters project, which featured urban interventions by Ozmo and Moneyless, two graffiti artists who worked on temporary large-scale murals in Chengdu and Milan.

The pictures created by El Gato Chimney represent a series of mythical animals which combine zoomorphic characteristics with esoteric, folkloristic details. Eccentrically dressed, the family of animals exudes a mystic aura softened by their slightly ironic demeanor. A bear, an owl, a deer, a pair of birds riding on two placid turtles and a pheasant are all outfitted with colorful scraps of fabric and carry curious objects, from birdhouses to small temples.

El Gato Chimney (Marco Campori) was born in 1981 in Milan, Italy, where he lives and works. Self-taught, with a background as a street artist abandoned in favor of a more introspective exploration in the studio, he dedicates his time to the research of a wide variety of subjects: primitive and sacred art, esoterism, folklore and natural history.  Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea will host a solo show of his work at Contemporary Istanbul from the 19th to 23rd of September.
