Pure volumes, sophisticated lines, contemporary minimalism mixed with a Classical influence: Valextra presents Flute, a project conceived by the Cyprus-born, London-based designer Michael Anastassiades. It’s a collaboration born from a shared passion for engineered beauty: the poetic tension between functionality and aesthetics.

Flute includes a curated environment featuring collectible design pieces, ranging from a bespoke lamp to limited edition bags, to a six-piece fine jewelry collection. The bags and jewelry from the Flute collection are instantly available at selected Valextra stores in Europe and exclusively at SKP in Beijing, presented through an installation - 17 September-30 October - also designed by Anastassiades.

The legendary Serie S is the
starting point for the designer,
who created an original
reinterpretation
of the 1960s design.
To reinvent the iconic product,
Valextra gave carte blanche
to Anastassiades,
who gave this project
a contemporary focus
and applied his
essential signature style and
meticulous flair to the new bag.

As a second step
in the collaboration
with Anastassiades,
a 18 carat solid gold
six-piece collection
marks Valextra's debut
into the world of jewelry
and also reinforces
its commitment
to the ideal of
engineered beauty.

Anastassiades has also contributed
to the presentation space,
creating new bespoke
lighting pieces
which are available for sale

After its debut at the Milanese
boutique in via Manzoni,
the collection lands exclusively
at SKP in Beijing -
from 17/09 to 05/11/2019,
presented in a
specially-designed pop-up store.
Anastassiades’ rarefied
environment features
bold touches of color,
from the mint green carpet
to the dusty pink velvet seating,
contrasting with
mirrored surfaces
and an undulated wood partition
on the edge of the space,
creating the illusion of
a sophisticated salon.
