24/7 Valextra: Chapter Three

Our third instalment is called A Touch of Beauty on account of the exquisite material innovation.

For AW24, Valextra continues to find the exemplary in the everyday with 24/7 Valextra: Chapter Three. This instalment is called A Touch of Beauty on account of the exquisite material innovation the collection comprises.

This season, our icon of urban elegance, the Iside handbag, evolves from its signature leather construction into an architectural treasure with a glossy gold-hued aluminium finish. The Iside Minaudiere has been meticulously engineered to be extremely lightweight, while its undulating surface pattern has been hand-engraved, elevating this microstructure into an artisanal masterpiece.

The Iside Palmelatto, which takes its name from the exquisite leather from which it has been crafted, is also unveiled. New to Valextra in 2024, our Palmelatto leather is the result of years of research, development, and perfecting. Supremely soft and completely blemish-free, it is named after the traditional hand-finished method that would imbue its distinctive shine. Realised this season in Valextra Black and our signature Pergamena White, its quality is globally revered making it the height of luxury.

They join the Milano handbag that arrives in our newly engineered Soft Millepunte leather that heralds a new era of leather craftsmanship at Valextra that fuses function and finesse; the Iside Indigo, created in collaboration with the Japanese artist Riku Matsuzaki, whose studio revives indigo-dye methods from the Taishō era; and the new woven Tombolo tote bag that has been realised in collaboration with the textiles laboratory, unPizzo that has revived the precious and ancient art of Pizzo di Cantù weaving.

These striking new additions to our collection took pride of place in a series of everyday and sensory scenarios that will came to life in our Via Manzoni flagship. Curated by Martina Lucatelli Studio, each situation mirrored a moment in the day of the Valextra client surrounded by the objects that link Valextra to our hometown of Milan, its world-renowned design and its warm welcome.

Situations evoking a intimate soiree, a luxury parcheggio, morning room-service tray, apres-ski aperitivo, a games room, and an auction room were re-imagined featuring icons of design by design greats, including Gio Ponti, Achille Castiglione, Ettore Sottsass, Franco Albini and Gaetano Pesce, alongside our exquisite leather goods.

Each of these microcosms created an immersive experience where design, engineering and iconic style, defining the perennial codes of Valextra and highlighting the sensorial nature of our leather goods that whisper their credentials yet pull focus in every room.

“I am both delighted and proud to present a milestone moment in Valextra’s constant pursuit of material innovation to create new lifestyle proposals with luxury leather goods positioned in a curated setting that celebrates our hometown of Milan and its reputation for world-class design,” says Xavier Rougeaux, Valextra CEO.
